In recognition of his immense contributions to the Orashi region in Egi Kingdom of Rivers State, Bro. Felix Obuah, the Sole Administrator of the Rivers State Waste Management Agency, (RIWAMA), has been conferred with a chieftaincy title of Eze Orashi of the Orashi Region.
At a grand reception which marked the coronation of Bro. Felix Obuah, who doubles as the Chairman, Peoples Democratic Party in Rivers State, the Palace of the Paramount Ruler of Egi clan, His Royal Highness, Professor Anele Uzondu was agog with the coronation ceremony.
During the reception and presentation of staff of office which held at the playground of the Erema Community in Ogba Egbema Ndoni Local Government Area in Rivers State, His Royal Highness, Prof. Anele extolled the sterling qualities of the recipient of the coveted title, Bro Felix Obuah, for his remarkable supports to the Orashi region.
Earlier, the traditional ruler, during his address, acknowledged the confirmation of his staff of office by the governor of Rivers State, Chief Barr. Ezenwo Nyesom Wike, who elevated his stool to the rank of first class traditional ruler in the state.
Speaking further, on the choice of Bro. Felix Obuah as Eze Orashi I of Orashi, the traditional ruler recalled the invaluable achievements and contribution of the worthy son who brought same and pride to Egi Kingdom.
In appreciation of his well deserved chieftaincy title, Bro Felix Obuah appreciated Gov Nyesom Wike for creating a peaceful atmosphere in the State.
Obuah, by the same breath thanked the governor for the confirmation of the Eze Egi as a first Class Traditional Ruler in Egi Kingdom. According to him, “Not every Traditional Ruler who was elevated came back home to thank his people but the Eze Egi without hesitation rushed down home to present his staff of office to the people of Egi”.
He gave kudos to Egi people for choosing Prof. Anele Uzondu to stand as their King. Obuah recalled how the late Prof. G. U. Ake fought for the Egi stool to be elevated to first class status.
The new Eze Orashi of the Orashi Region used the occasion to clear the air on political development in the State. He informed that, despite political differences in the State, he harbours no bitterness against the political leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in the State. He called on everyone to make contribution to the growth of Orashi region.
“I have no personal grudge against anyone. If I have offended you in any way, kindly find a place in your heart to forgive me. I am human, so I am not perfect. ONELGA and Orashi must move forward,” said Bro Obuah.
While commending the Oil Companies operating in the Egi axis for executing massive projects in the area, Obuah expressed delight over the prevailing peace in Egi land.
He particularly noted with delight efforts by the executive governor, Chief Barr. Nyesom Wike, for including the completion of ONELGA projects in his second tenure agenda. He reiterated the support of entire ONELGA to the administration of Gov Wike.
