Eze Ogundu Appreciates God Over Reign On Throne
In keeping with the promises made during the formal installation of Eze Kingsley Chukwunyere Ogundu (JP) as the Oyo the 8th of Azumini-Isiokpo in Ikwerre Local Government Area of Rivers State, friends, colleagues, well-wishers and the entire people of Azumini Community trooped out in their numbers to St. Peter’s Anglican Church – Isiokpo for a special thanksgiving service.
In his sermon, Ven Chris Odiga who represented Bishop of Ikwere diocese of Anglican Communion, Bishop (Dr) Blessing Eyindah said Eze Ogundu’s coronation was divine considering his humane and peaceful disposition, noting that such rare qualities attract God’s blessings as leadership only comes from him.
He observed that Azumini has been more united and peaceful since he ascended the throne of his ancestors exactly one year ago, assuring him of consistent prayers from the church for total progress, development and peaceful coexistence of all residents of Azumini community.
Speaking shortly after the church service, Eze Ogundu noted that the wellbeing and unity of his people is his interest, saying that their physical presence at the church is a clear indication of their total support, acceptance and love for him and thanked them for identifying with him at this auspicious moment of joy and happiness.
The monarch however, thanked Bishop Eyindah and the council of knights of the parish for their fervent prayers and also extended his profound gratitude to the Nye-Nwe-Ali, and paramount ruler of Isiokpo ancient Kingdom, King Blessing Wagor (JP) for his fatherly advice as well as Isiokpo Council of Chiefs for their support and sustenance of existing peace in Isiokpo.
Eze Kingsley Ogundu rode on a beautifully decorated horses to the church as a symbol of kingship.
