Burial Ceremony Turns Bloody As OSPAC Allegedly Kills Mother Of Four
There was pandemonium last week at Rumuosi in Obio/Akpor Local Government area of Rivers following the shooting to death of a married woman identified as Beatrice Obisike, a mother of four children allegedly by OSPAC members during a burial ceremony in the area.
We learned that OSPAC members who came to the venue of the burial shot sporadically into the air and the woman who was cooking for the occasion was caught by a bullet. She was later confirmed dead in an undisclosed hospital.
An eyewitness told our correspondent that the ceremony came to an abrupt end as sympathizers scampered for safety.
Meanwhile the husband of the woman, Daniel Obisike is calling for justice in the matter.
Mr Obisike queried why OSPAC members are still using guns despite directives from the Police that they should submit their arms.
Community sources told our reporter two of the OSPAC members believed to be responsible are being detained in Choba Divisional Police headquarters. However the arrest of the OSPAC members could not be confirmed as the spokesperson of Rivers State Police Command SP Nnamdi Omoni was yet to respond to enquiries on the incident as at the time of filing this report.
