All roads will lead to Rumuche Community in Emohua Local Government Area on Saturday, October 16, 2021, where the body of Mrs. Agnes Okogbule, who died on July 22, 2021, would be laid to rest.
A statement by her first son and chief mourner, Mr. Osi Okogbule, said the late octogenarian who passed on at the ripe age of 88 years, lived an active life and retired as a teacher having served her community in many capacities.
A founding member of Omemma Social Club of Emohua, the late Mrs. Okogbule also belonged to several social organizations in Emohua and Ikwerre ethnic nationality in general.
On her retirement as a teacher, late Mrs. Okogbule was said to have effectively engaged in farming and petty tradingway into her advanced age and, according to Mr. Okogbule, she held tenaciously to her guiding philosophy that’there is no shortcut to success in life other than hard work and trust (faith) in God’.
While extolling the sterling qualities embedded in his late mother, Mr. Osi Okogbule, a senior civil servant with the Rivers State Local Government Service Commission, said she exemplified boldness, courage and truthfulness, adding that these lovely traits she generously passed on to him and his siblings.
He said although his mother lived and died a fulfilled woman, she would be missed not only by her immediate family but by those who loved and cherished her exemplary lifestyle.
His words, “My mother’s transition is a glorious home coming to the Lord. You know there’s a common saying that would always remain a boy as long as mom is around. In my own case, she was a colossus, stood like a protective tree and I’m yet to come to terms with the reality that she is gone.
“But I take solace with the fact that she not only had us, she lived a worthy life and died gloriously in the Lord”.
The late Mrs. Agnes Okogbule is survived by six children, three males and three females.
