A man simply identified as Akanwor Mini allegedly committed suicide at Rumuche community, Emohua Emohua Local Government Area of Rivers State last Sunday by hanging himself in a tree.
One Innocent Ake, a native of the community informed our reporter that the community attention was drawn to the incident when the wife to the owner of the compound raised alarm.
Ake explained that residents besieged the scene but did not touch the deceased as custom and tradition demands in respect to a suicide case.
Although the reason for the action of the deceased could not be ascertained unconfirmed source claimed the deceased was having a quarrel with his father.
Our reporter gathered that the matter has been reported to Rumuji Divisional Police headquarters.
SP Nnamdi Omoni, Public Relations Officer of the Rivers State Police command was yet to respond to enquiries by our reporter as at press time.
