The Anti-Cultism unit of Rivers State Police command last Monday arrested six suspected cultists who engaged themselves in a battle for supremacy and territorial control at Sandfill area at Eagle Island, Port Harcourt using different dangerous weapon.
An eyewitness who pleaded anonymity told our reporter that but for the timely intervention of the Anti-cultism unit attached to the headquarters office at Rupokwu the situation would have degenerated.
We gathered that two suspected Deygbam cult groups engaged themselves in a supremacy battle over who takes charge of the ‘economic’ benefits in the area that houses a lot of shanties and hard wood shops.
The source disclosed that there was pandemonium in the area as the suspected cultists engaged themselves.
Five suspected cultists were stabbed severely while six others were arrested by the Police, the source revealed.
