One Suspect In Police Net Over ‘Disappearance’ Of Two Children In Diobu

A man identified as Udoh Abraham is being detained at State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (SCIID), Port Harcourt after he was arrested by Azikiwe Divisional Police headquarters, Mile 11 Diobu over the weekend in alleged connection to theft of two children Miss Success Etebong and Master Goodluck Ajemina aged three years respectively at Diobu, we gathered.

We learnt that the suspect was transferred to SCIID by Azikiwe Police Division last Monday for further investigation.

The Spokesperson for the Rivers State Police Command, SP Nnamdi Omoni, was yet to respond to enquiries by our reporter on the development as at press time.

Recall that an unknown woman last week Friday afternoon stole two children, Miss Success Etebong  and Master Goodluck Ajemina aged three years respectively at Nwachukwu Street Mile II Diobu Port Harcourt.

Hope Sunday, an aunty to one of the missing children, Goodluck Ajemina told our correspondent that the unknown woman initially took nine children but later disappeared with only two.

Hope Sunday stated that the matter had been reported to Azikiwe Divisional Police headquarters at Illabouchi, Mile 11 Diobu.

Another resident who spoke to our correspondent disclosed that the unknown woman came to make her hair.

The source informed our correspondent that the woman after making her hair, gave money to the person who made her hair who is the mother of one of the children to buy something for her.

The source further revealed that when the mother of the child came back, the unknown woman had disappeared with her child and one other.

Our correspondent who visited the area last Friday night reports that the Police were interrogating persons who were  close to the scene when the unknown woman left with the two children for purpose of investigation.

Relatively our reporter gathered that the Rumulomeni Police Division in Iwofe recovered a year and six month old baby last week Wednesday from a suspected male child trafficker and arrested the suspect.

The mother of the child who declined to state her identity when our reporter met her at SCIID last Monday when the suspect whose name was still concealed was transferred to SCIID explained that she saw her baby when she went to report to Rumulomeni Police Division that the baby was missing after several hours of searching for the baby.
