MACOSA Storms Akwa Ibom Community For Burial Of Member’s Mom

As a show of solidarity and comradeship, the 2011 Set of the Mass Communications Students Association (MACOSA) at the Rivers State University, Port Harcourt has concluded arrangements to fully participate at the burial ceremony of late Deaconess Grace Christopher Adanga, mother of a frontline member of the association, Mr. Chris Aniebet Adanga.

Late Deaconess Adanga, a member of the Brotherhood of the Cross and Star, would be interred in Effen, Ika Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State on Saturday, May 20, 2022.

A statement jointly signed by George Gad and Stella Ebosie, Chairman and Secretary respectively of MACOSA, Set 2011, said the group would storm the Akwa Ibom community in their numbers, to identify with their member.

The statement added that even though the deceased died at the ripe age of 83 years, the presence and company of friends and loved ones at this moment of grief, would be very soothing.

Already, a strongly-worded tribute has been penned down by the association and delivered to the Adanga family.

MACOSA, while noting that for every mortal, death is a necessary end, regretted that the death of the octogenarian came at the peak of the time when those she left behind were relishing her motherly care.

“Our consolation however comes from the fact that the good Lord whom she served dutifully, will provide all that would be needed to give her a befitting burial. However, our consolation comes from the fact that the good Lord whom she served dutifully, will provide all that would be needed to give her a befitting burial”, MACOSA prayed.

Recalling that late Deaconess Grace Adanga was a great philanthropist, women leader and devoted Christian who led a life worthy of emulation, the body expressed assurance that posterity would continue to celebrate the milestones she left behind, and prayed the Almighty to console and give all thoseshe left behind, the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.

Speaking to National Network, Mr. Chris Aniebet Adanga expressed thanks to God for the life span enjoyed by his late mom, but however noted that her death has left a vacuum in the family that would be hard to fill.

“You know that even if your mother or father lived like Methuselah, you wouldn’t wish their exit because they are like a big covering which you enjoyed as long as they lived. I will miss my dear mother greatly, but I take solace in the fact that her life was eventful and full of quality service to God and humanity, and I know that her soul will find rest in God’s bosom”, he said.

The burial programme made available to this medium shows that service of songs for the deceased Deaconess would hold at her husband’s compound in Effen, Ita on Friday, May 27, 2022 at 3.00 pm while the Funeral Service holds at St. Monica’s Conventh School, Effen, Ika by 10.00 am on Saturday, 28/5/22 and interment immediately after.
