TOF Barks At HYPREP Detractors
Rivers State based socio-political pressure group, The Ogoni Frontiers (TOF) has berated those masquerading behind whatever guise in or outside the state,to spread falsehood against the young management of the Hydrocarbon Pollution Remediation Project (HYPREP) to immediately withdraw into their shelves to avoid litigations.
The organization, through its spokesperson, Comrade Alloy Khenom said, it noted with utmost sadness and disappointment the level of evil machinations by certain few individuals who appear to find joy and satisfaction through ill intentions for their selfless gains.
TOF reasoned that it could not at the moment; squarely challenge the action of those brewing unfounded rumours and propaganda against the management of HYPREP because the identities of those propagators are still shrouded in secrecy.
“Imagine people, perhaps some of them claim to be responsible and well-to-do in the society, cooking up spurious rumours that the management of HYPREP planned to sponsor protests against persons engaged to work on the project?”
“When would people become truly reasonable, God-fearing and desist from actions capable of causing disharmony in the public, simply because of their own selfish interest”, TOF barked, even as it believes that reasonable Ogonis in particular, the Federal Ministry of Environment and the Hon. Minister of Environment, Barr. Abdulahi Mohamed would discountenance such cheap rumours and retain their weight behind HYPREP under Dr. Ferdinand Giadom to succeed”, he said.
TOF spokesman maintained that, the organization has, as its primary aim and objective, remain committed to defending, supporting and projecting individuals, groups and organizations that preach and practice peace, love, physical development and socio-political progress in Ogoniland, and beyond.
Comrade Alloy Khenom recalled that, TOF, at its first 2022 quarterly meeting in Bori recently, had pledged continuous support for the HYPREP and pleaded for same from all the stakeholders, particularly Ogonis and the Federal Ministry of Environment. It demanded immediate stoppage of unhealthy rumours against the HYPREP, noting that it is only in unity and support that progress can be achieved in the society.
