The Rivers State Police command says it has arrested one Messiah Kelechi for alleged rape of a married woman whom he met on facebook.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Eboka Friday, while parading the suspect said on 28th May 2022, operatives of the anti-kidnapping unit, arrested one Messiah Kelechi who invited his victim to his house and drugged her, slept with her while videoing the escapade after which the suspect demanded the sum of One Million Naira (N1, 000, 000 .00) as for ransom from her husband.
CP Eboka states that the suspect threatened to make the video go viral by uploading it on Internet if the husband of the woman fails to comply.
He said operatives of anti-kidnapping of the command swung into action and arrested the suspect and rescued the victim at Queens Park Estate, Rumudara Port Harcourt upon receiving the compliant.
He added that the victim is undergoing medical treatment. The suspect, Messiah confessed to the crime when interviewed by Journalists.
Similarly, CP Eboka said on 12th of June 2022, Operatives of Puff Adder while on stop and search along Air Port road, sighted a Mazda 323 with Reg. No SKN 187 where a female passenger, Gift Joshua Sunday was screaming for help.
He said they immediately intercepted the vehicle and the lady narrated how the driver allegedly had unlawful carnal knowledge of her.
He said the driver, one Victor Orobo, aged 30 was arrested and the matter is being investigated and he will soon be arraigned in court.
Meanwhile, Victor Orobo in an interview with our reporter, said he and the female passenger had consentual sex and not rape.
Mr Orobo explained that the female passenger accused him of rape because he did not give her upto to the amount of money he promised giving her to have sex with her.
