New Enene Chief Sues For Peace In Andoni
Following his successful presentation, registration and installation as the new traditional head of the Enene Group of Chieftaincy Houses in Egwebe Grand Compound in Asarama, Andoni Local Government of Rivers State, High Chief Egbak Blessing Samuel Enene III, has called for the sustenance of the restoration of peace in Andoni.
High Chief Enene III spoke to newsmen shortly after his installation at the Enene Square in Asarama on Friday, July 1, 2022. The installation ceremony was part of a five-day Enene Unity celebration which ended on Tuesday, July 5, 2022.
The new Enene Chief who showered praises on the Chairman of Andoni Local Government Area, Hon Erastus Awortu for restoring peace in the once troubled area, pointed out that his installation ceremony witnessed the presence and participation of all interest groups in the community. “The peace we have been yearning for in Asarama has finally returned. We must nurture it in order to sustain it,” he said.
The new Chief Enene took over from late Chief Samuel Blessing Enene II who was murdered in his Woji’s residence in Port Harcourt on October 10, 2017.
The ceremony was presided over by the member of the Andoni Area Council of Traditional Rulers, HRH Daniel Okikere Ibani V1 who is also the Okanama of Iwoma Community and Chairman of Asarama Divisional Council of Traditional Rulers and Chiefs.
Other major highlights of the five days ceremony included the unveiling of The Paths of a Legend: An Authorised Biography of Chief Samuel Blessing Enene II, cultural display, music festival, rally and novelty football match between the Enene team and community team.
