…As TAC Akokwa District Welcomes Pastor Bassey And Family

This was the sermon delivered by Pastor King E. F. Umossoh of The Apostolic Church (TAC) Ogbunabali Assembly during the reception service organized by The Apostolic Church (TAC), Akokwa District, Dim Area, Maritime Territory for Pastor Bassey Isaiah Bassey, his wife, Deaconess Love Bassey and family over the weekend.

According to the guest pastor in the sermon whose theme was “I and my pastor” he said “Pastors or prophets are raised by God for the welfare of humanity”.

And that the relationship between the men of God and their congregation is very important to achieve set goal.

Some of the benefits derived from the men of God, he pointed out, includes deliverance of the oppressed; blessings and preservation of the congregates; restoration and rearrangement of scattered destinies as well as handling of the battles of life for them.

In order not to miss these blessings from the men of God, Pastor Umossoh reeled out some of the pitfalls to avoid which includes familiarity with the pastors; believing in their ability; avoiding hatred; lack of honour and respect; avoiding disloyalty and destructive criticism. Above all, that the congregation should be sensitive to the needs of their pastors and attempt to solve them.

The chairman of the occasion, Presiding Elder (Amb) Melubari N. Akekue in his opening remarks said the event is important as it would assure pastor Bassey and his family that they are is safe hands.

Adding that the event will also serve as an encouragement for all of them to put in their best in the services of God, stressing that the district is lucky to have the pastor with them because of his capability.

In their welcome address, the Akokwa District Council of the church said they are happy to have pastor Bassey in their midst describing him as a man of God with impeccable character.

In the address read by the District Secretary/Chairman of the Reception Planning Committee, Pastor Goodluck Anaemeje, they reeled out some of the achievements the pastor had recorded so far in the short period he has been with them and promised their unalloyed cooperation for him to achieve more.

The District also used the opportunity to list out some of the challenges facing them to include lack of permanent worship centres for Nanka and Anozie Assemblies of the church, appealing for support.

The event witnessed presentation of special souvenirs to the special guests of honour as well as donation to them.

Speaking with newsmen at the sideline of the event, Pastor Bassey while appreciationg everybody for the honour done him and his family, appealed for maximum cooperation and loyalty from the members to achieve his vision of taking the district to the next spiritual height.

Highlights of the event were the rendition by the Temple Choir, the youths as well as the dancing competition among the arms of the church.
