RSU Hamilton’s Daughter Quits Singlehood

It was a day of joy in the family of Professor Donald Ibama Hamilton, of Okorosa Polo, Buguma, in Asari-Toru Local Government Area, Rivers State, the Dean, Faculty of Management Sciences, Rivers State University, as his daughter, Somina, got hooked in  marriage  to her soul mate, Ebiakpo Afrogha of Agge Town in Ekeremor Local Government Area, Bayelsa State.

The nuptials which took place on Friday, October 26, 2018, at Professor Hamilton’s Compound, 52, School Road,  Azuabie,  Port Harcourt, attracted a galaxy of friends and well-wishers as well as a horde of families who were excited  to witness the union of the two flammable lovebirds.

In an interview, the father of the bride, Professor Hamilton said although  it was a natural order for a  female child to be  given out in marriage at some point in life,  he would miss the warmth of the regular presence of his baby girl, Somina, in the house. He wished her and her beloved husband   a successful and blissful married life.

Professor Hamilton admonished single ones who are looking for an opportunity like this, to always seek the face of God for His lavish marital grace and blessings upon them, adding that  it was not as if those who were already married were the best before God.  He observed that in his own time,   God in his own wisdom  knows  how he organizes things like this and make them beautiful.  He   prayed that the Almighty God who gave his daughter, Somina, this opportunity, may also extend the same goodness to the young unmarried women who are looking up to him for that  favour,  noting that in the African tradition, it is proper for a man to marry a woman right from her father’s house, not from the street,  in  order to value her.

On the current trend of the breaking of  homes, he advised couples to be courageous enough to handle the difficult moments that could arise in the course of the marriage, stressing that there was no perfect couple.  Rather, what was  according to him, was to learn  to understand and figure out the bad part of their spouse and learn how to deal with it so as to have a successful marriage.

Alabo Firimabo Alex Okorosa, the chairman of the occasion described the marriage of Somina and Ebiakpo as one  that would last as she,  Somina, had been well groomed by the parents. He was grateful to God that  the training given to her had paid off as Somina had finally made the  Hamiltons proud by earning herself a good husband and  a colourful  marriage ceremony.

Alabo Okorosa admonished the young and adorable couple to strive to understand each other and  not try to take advantage of each other’s weaknesses. He prayed that God should bless the marriage with the fruits of the womb and provide them all the good things of life.

Somina, commenting on the qualities in her husband that she fancied most, described him  as her best of friend, who is   exceptionally  caring, loving and  slow to anger.

The second segment of the event, Bibife and Elekiri  ceremonies, which took place at Spring Garden, 10, Peter Odili Road, Trans-Amadi, Port Harcourt, was a beauty to behold as conveyed by the  pictures below:
