The Chairman of Rumuagholu Community Development Committee (CDC) in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State, Comr. Vincent Okechukwu Amadi has described allegations against him on land grabbing by one Mr. Samuel Kinikanwo Nyegwa as malicious and unfounded and fabricated to deceive the public.
Comr. Amadi, while addressing journalists in Port Harcourt recently said Samuel Nyegwa was seeking for recognition and sympathy by the public in order not to implicate him for the fraudulent activities he has allegedly committed by selling about four hundred (400) plots of land belonging to the people of Rumuagholu.
Comr. Amadi disclosed that the only paramount ruler in Rumuagholu is HRH, Eze Bekwele Attah, pointing out that Samuel Nyegwa is neither a titled chief nor a compound chief and has no right to speak for the people of Rumuagholu following a court suit instituted against him by Eze Bekwele stopping him from parading himself as a paramount ruler in Rumuagholu.
He maintained that it is only him (Comr. Vincent Amadi) and His Royal Highness, Eze Bakwele that can speak for the people of Rumuagholu considering their positions.
Comr. Amadi also discountenanced all allegations against him by Samuel Nyegwa as a blatant lie and mere blackmail to his personality as a CDC Chairman of the community, adding that he has more two years to complete his tenure which started in 2021.
He therefore, called on the government of Rivers State and security agencies to quickly intervene in Rumuagholu for peace to reign before things get out of hand and possibly arrest Mr. Samuel Nyegwa for threatening peace in the community.
Comr. Amadi also warned anybody or company doing any business with Samuel Nyegwa to stop forwith, or face the wrath of the law.
Samuel Nyegwa when contacted on the issue of selling land belonging to Rumuagholu community and threatening the peace of the community, dismissed the allegations as lacking substance and not holding water.
He called on the CDC Chairman to provide evidence of his claim.
