Church Security Guard Beats, Arrests Pastor Over Food
A security guard attached to an orthodox church located at Dim street, Mile 3 Diobu Port Harcourt, effected the arrest of a Pastor of the church last week Saturday after allegedly beating him (Pastor) up.
We learnt that the security guard who was said to be intoxicated had approached the Pastor who came out from the church during a wedding program, telling him that the ushers had not given him food.
We gathered that upon the Pastor’s enquiry from the ushers, it was confirmed that the security guard had been served food three times.
Our source disclosed that worried by the discovery, the Pastor questioned why the security guard would deny that he had eaten.
The source in the church explained that the security guard bounced on the Pastor and allegedly beat him up for querying his action.
Another church member told our reporter that it took the intervention of some members to rescue the Pastor from the security guard.
When our reporter visited the church, it was observed that the security guard came with two Police officers from Azikiwe Divisional Police headquarters, Illabouchi, Mile 2 Diobu to effect the arrest of the Pastor whom he had earlier assaulted.
The Chief Security Officer of the street, Nelson Chimezie told our reporter that he accompanied the Pastor to the Police station where he made statement and after preliminary investigation by the Police Division, the Pastor was let go.
