PCRC Chairman Adds Another Feather To Cap
…Says He Is Fulfilled
The chairman of the Police Community Relation Committee (PCRC) Elekahia and Mini Okoro Police Area Command, Port Harcourt, Elder Chief Emmanuel Obi (JP) has added another feathers to his colourful cap as he is honoured with a Peace Advocate Award as well as the National Patron Award alongside two other personalities in Owerri, the Imo State capita recently by the Practicing Justice of the Peace, Nigeria.
In a plague signed by the president of the association, Ven. Ikechi Ebens Onyeahialam (JP) and secretary, Engr. Godwin Aham Osuji (JP) respectively, the group noted that Chief Obi and the other awardees were recognized as icons of peace for promoting peace for the benefit of the society since they were appointed as Justice of Peace some years back, adding that the recognition was indeed as a result of Chief Obi’s high integrity in the maintenance and promotion of peaceful coexistence in the society.
The body while congratulating the awardees urged them to continue to live up to their responsibilities of the high office by the appointments.
In a chat with newsmen, Elder Chief Emma Obi (JP) said he is fulfilled with the activities to reach out to others especially the down-trodden in the society, assuring that the awards will spur him to do more.
He disclosed some of the projects the PCRC has embarked upon in their determination to support the police achieve set goals.
With regards to the political situation in Nigeria, Chief Obi said it is a critical period for the country both politically and economically and requires every hand to be on deck.
He however expressed hope for the country especially as the youths are getting involved in the election process as a result of the insecurity and hardship in the country.
He used the opportunity to appeal to the electoral empire and everyone that will be involved in midwifing the next republic to consider the interest and corporate existence of the country and ensure a transparent, credible election.
He further advised the electorate to go and obtain their PVCs and vote in competent candidates that will restore the glory of Nigeria.
The PCRC chairman assured that with the introduction of the new electoral law and the Bimodal Voters Accreditation System (BVAS), rigging of election is almost eliminated.
He made it known that God is interested in the affairs of the country hence a lot of divine arrangement is being witnessed as the forthcoming general election approaches.
