Rivers State Deputy Governor Dr. (Mrs) Ipalibo Harry Banigo says citizens have the responsibility of leading a healthy life style in order to prevent ill health.
Dr. Banigo disclosed this in her goodwill message from the Government House in Port Harcourt on Thursday 6th April, 2023 to commemorate the 75th Anniversary of the World Health Organization (WHO).
According to the Public Health Physician it is the failure of citizens to cultivate the habit of healthy living that degenerates to ill health and medical complications.
She said under the watch of Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike the Rivers People have continued to enjoy a top –notch health care delivery system, adding that the incoming Governor, Sir Siminalaiyi Fubara would improve on the achievements of the Governor Wike-led Administration in all ramifications.
The Senator-Elect of the Rivers West Senatorial District said the various health indices have indicated a reduction of the disease burden of the Rivers People.
Dr. Banigo who noted that efficient and effective health service delivery was the hallmark of the Present Administration described the theme for this year’s World Health Day celebration which is “Health for All”, as appropriate.
