Magnus Abe Equates Wild Jubilations In Rivers APC To Premature Ejaculation

…Says His Faction Is Very Much On Course

The immediate past senator representing Rivers South-East Senatorial District, Magnus Abe, has lambasted a section of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the State who broke into wild jubilations following the outcome of the just concluded National Convention of the party in Abuja, equating their emotion to premature ejaculation.

Abe who was speaking at a stakeholders’ meeting in Port Harcourt, Monday, March 4, 2022 wondered what could have triggered such outburst when the party has a higher and more strenuous task ahead the 2023 general elections in the state.

He said the problem of the APC in Rivers State is not yet over unless whoever emerges as the leader in the state or the zone shows and is seen to have shown genuine interest in the party and the members, and respects the will of the people to choose whoever they wish in any election process and not to be interested in carrying out the will of one man or any group. The former senator advised his supporters and party faithful not to panic or be deceived or carried away by propagandist campaigns as the position of the APC nationwide on elective offices will become clearer in the coming months.

He described the lies that a particular candidate has been endorsed by President Muhammadu Buhari as his successor as coming from the romour mill.

According to the Ogoni born politician, nobody has been endorsed by the APC on the successor to President Buhari at least not to his knowledge as an APC  chieftain.

Chief Abe described as daydreaming for anybody who has not worked to see that the APC wins supporters and prospective voters or done anything to make the party strong in the State to think he will be carried to the exalted office of the president of Nigeria on the platform of the APC.

He further described as foolhardy of anybody to relax and hope to clinch the presidential ticket by presidential endorsement when more serious minded persons are crisscrossing the length and breadth of the country soliciting for support and furnishing their democratic credentials and contributions to the party so as to be reckoned with.

“We went to the convention and proved a point that we are a force that cannot be ignored in the state APC by rejecting the consensus idea and went into the election. Our concern is not who wins or emerges as zonal chairman of the party but that anybody to be emerge through the process of election and office should be experienced and have capacity to be able to look at out the issues and take decisions in the best interest of everybody and that the right thing be done”, Senator Abe explained.

Senator Abe said the issue is that of respecting and following the constitution of the party which is going to play out very soon and this is why I describe the unwarranted jubilation by some persons in the state over the outcome of the national convention as ‘premature ejaculation’ because they have refused to ponder over all these and they are celebrating over nothing.

On his governorship ambition, Magnus Abe said though he is still consulting, what matters to him is the interest of the party in the state, how to build and mobilize more support for the party and not necessarily his personal interest, stressing that if not him, any other person could equally be picked by the party if it is established on democracy and fairplay which is the core issue in the seeming wrangling in Rivers APC.
