Umunna, Obiukom Autonomous Communities Celebrate Coronation Of Their Paramount Rulers
Umunna and Obiukom Ututu Autonomous Communities in Arochukwu Local Government Area of Abia State during the Easter holidays celebrated the coronation of their Paramount Rulers.
The celebrants include, HRH Eze Azuma Kalu Osu (Eke ofo Ezema II) of Umunna Autonomous Community and HRH Eze (Hon) Mandela Arunsi Okereke (Obi Obiukom II) of Obiukom. Their entrant was as a result of the vacancy created by the death of their former occupants.
The Paramount Rulers had earlier completed the process of selection, election, presentation and admission into the Local Government Traditional Rulers Council and finally recognition and presentation of staff of office by the Abia State government.
In their separate interviews at the event, the royal fathers whom many persons described as most qualified and exposed promised to foster peace and unity not only in their respective domains but in Ututu Clan as a whole.
They also promised to synergize with both ‘Ndi Eze Ogo’ and the Autonomous Community Ezes to secure Ututu.
The monarchs also promised to work hard to ensure the reduction if not total elimination of out of school children population.
They equally pledged to work cooperatively to restore the dignity of Ututu.
They as well pledged not only to make Ututu peaceful with itself but peacefully co-habits with her neighbours.
They however appealed for cooperation from the citizens to enable them achieve set goals as peace they say, is panacea to development.
It could be recalled that Ututu Clan with 19 villages was recently bukernized into eight (8) Autonomous Communities with their separate Paramount Rulers.
This includes Eleoha, Akasi, Ezema, Amazea, Oboroji, Umuiwe, Umunna and Obiukom Autonomous Communities by the Abia State government for development purposes.
The nineteen villages still retain their heads who are from all indications subject to the autonomous Ezes.
Highlights of the occasion was the award of chieftaincy titles to some illustrious sons and daughters in the area which includes Chief Engr Chinemere Ogbonnaya, Chief Okechukwu Isiolu, Chief Sampson Benjamin Okore, Chief (Mrs) May Ugochi Ugwuh, Chief Sabastine Chinyere Ohiagu, Chief Engr Destiny U.O. Obasi, Chief John Ifere Okore, Hon Princess Ada Charles Egwu, Chief Basil Obasi Nmecha, Chief Patrick Odo Ukonu and Hon. Chief Samuel Udeh as well as a posthumous award to late Dr John Kalu Ogbonnaya (kaltronics).
Other awardees from Umunna Autonomous Community includes Chief Azuma Kalu Okorie, High Chief Eric Aso; Chief Innocent Ngozi Eluchie; Chief Frank Ejei Okeke and Chief Patrick Kalu Nwankwo.
Meanwhile, the Eze Ogo elect, Eze Joseph Kalu Nchege will be coronated on Saturday, May 21, 2022 as the 7th Eze Ogo of Amaeke Ututu in Umunna Autonomous Community at Amaeke Ututu village square.
