American Varsity Confers Degrees On King Igbara, SP Agbashim
…Emperor Nkpe, Mene Baridam, Others Also Decorated
A colourful event held last Saturday, May 14, 2022 at the International Conference Center, Nortem-Bori town in Khana Local Government of Rivers State, bringing back memories of relics of an evergreen track titled: “Who the cap fits, let them wear it”, done by the legendary Jamaican Reggae maestro and philosopher, the late Bob Marley.
It was the 9thConvocation/10th Matriculation ceremony by the Nigerian chapter of the International Victory Bible Institute (IVBI) based at Tulsa, Oklahoma in USA.
An appreciable list of notable personalities across Rivers State and beyond added colour to the attendees which included graduands and their relations where honorary Doctorate degrees, Fellow of the institute and various other awards were conferred on deserving persons in different areas of endeavour.
Particularly noticeable among the awardees were the popular youth friendly and philanthropic paramount ruler of Nortem-Bori communities, Mene (Sir) Dr. Lenu Tsaro-Igbara JP who bagged a Doctoral degree (Ph.D) in Community Development.
Recognized for his tireless contributions towards peace and harmony in the society, the authority at IVBI said, the actions of Dr. Lenu Tsaro-Igbara over the years till date deserve enormous recognitions as he has remained a beacon of hope for unity and progress among peoples and communities across Babbe Kingdom and beyond. Mene Sir Dr. Lenu Tsaro-Igbara already held a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from University of Benin.
Similarly, the courageous Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in Bori, Superintendent of Police (SP) Bako Angbashim expectedly received his Doctoral award for gallantry in protecting and defending human lives and property, thus resulting in societal peace and development everywhere he serves. SP (Dr.) Bako Angbashim already graduated with a B.Sc. in Geography (2nd class upper) from University of Jos.
Another recipient was King (Dr.) Suanu Baridam (JP), the Gbenemene Bua Bangha II who already had an M.Sc degree in Industrial Relations and Personnel Management from UNIPORT.
Globe-trottler and Oneh-Eh (paramount ruler) of Alesa-Eleme, HRH, Emere Sir (Dr.) Emperor J.D. Nkpe II was conferred with a Ph.D. in Community Development, amidst shouts of “Jah Rastafara-i” from his admirers who told journalists that Emere Dr. Emperor Nkpe II is a staunch member and patron of the adored Rastafara-i Movement in many states across Nigeria.
Respected health service provider, Ati-Makpah Victoria from Bayelsa State was decorated as “Distinguished Humanitarian Fellow”, while Mr. Sunday Udoh David-Ohuegbe and Chief Bassey Otudor (JP) got Excellent Service Awards.
The Nigerian Director of IVBI, Dr. Favoured U.J. Evergreen in her address at the ceremony said, the institute is known globally and has acquired high respect and followership due to its commitment to dictates for morality and sound academy through the word of God.
While paying tribute to the founder of IVBI, she emphasized that the institute does not celebrate mediocre rather; its focus remains on excellence to enable it meet target goal and vision to assemble quality products worldwide.
Dr. Evergreen, disclosed that the institute already had study centers in Rivers State and would soon open a befitting center in Bori to meet the need of students aspiring to register for the attractive courses offered by the school.
She congratulated the graduarnds and awardees on their achievement and thank attendees for making the event successful ever as she appealed for public assistance to achieve its aim and objective.
The awardees namely, Mene Sir (Dr.) Lenu Igbara, SP (Dr) Bako Agbashim, Mene (Dr) Suanu Baridam and Emere (Dr.) Emperor Nkpe collectively spoke well of the school and its management and called on Ogonis to embrace it through support and enrollment for courses
