…Debunks Notion That Pastors Aren’t ‘Rich’
The Co-Director of Good Samaritan Ministries (GSM), Rev (Mrs.) Angela Uchechi Faraday Iwuchukwu, has dismissed the notion that pastors are not rich enough to sustain marriage financially.
She told Christian ladies who have offers of marriage from pastors, not to look at the pastor’s pocket but on the grace and anointing he is carrying, adding that such insinuations about pastors are baseless and a lie from ‘pit of hell’.
Rev. Angela Iwuchukwu, who made the assertion during the occasion of her 60th birthday celebration in Port Harcourt on Saturday, described her marriage to Rev. (Barr) Faraday Iwuchukwu as a living testimony of a resounding success, adding that she would still marry a pastor in next life, if such exists.
“I married a fabulous servant of God and the Lord has been very magnanimous to us. He blessed us with wonderful children who are all doing very well in the ways of God.
“Marriage is an institution ordained by God, and if you allow Him as the Lord of your life, He will give you your own husband, whether pastor or not”, she said.
Mrs. Iwuchukwu, a deliverance minister, author and relationship expert, said she got married to her husband in an era when sowing of ‘monetary seed’ were not emphasized in church.
“The situation is even different today. During our time, there weren’t many pastors who could boast of driving a car. It’s not the same today, as you can agree with me that if you count what you call poor people, they are certainly not pastors”, she said.
The woman of God acknowledged that at 60, she felt fulfilled having attained the status she desired from God.
“Serving God in my present capacity is very fulfilling. I tell you sincerely that I lack nothing. No other profession would have given me more joy”, she intoned.
In his testimony, Rev (Barr) Faraday Iwuchukwu described the celebrant as the greatest gift given him by God.
He said this about meeting his wife and winning her hand in marriage: “In my early upbringing, I was told by my pastor then, that because I have gap teeth, I shouldn’t be laughing as it’s capable of seducing sisters.
“And in my Philosophy class at the university, a Professor told us that laughter would increase your life while crying or being moody would reduce your lifespan.
“But this wife of mine made me a laughing jackass. Now I laugh more than a jackass. She changed my life for good”.
Goodwill messages by friends, associates and members of the Good Samaritan Ministries unanimously extolled the sterling virtues of a godly woman who has touched lives in very positive ways.
The birthday party was graced by the presence of members of the Nigerian Christian Lawyers Association and other ministers of the gospel in the state.
Highlight of the event was the cutting of the magnificent 60th birthday cake, presided over by the immediate elder sister of the celebrant, Dr (Mrs.) Rosemary U. Aju, an academic don at the Abia State Polytechnic, Aba.
