Gov Wike Performed Beyond Expectation – PHALGA Chiefs Council

The Port Harcourt City Council of chiefs has doffed its hats for the state governor, Barr. Nyesom Ezenwo Wike for according to them, “performing beyond human expectations in the governance of the state.

Speaking with newsmen during the flag-off of the Orochiri/Worukwo and Oroworukwo (Ikokwu) flyovers over the weekend in Port Harcourt, the Secretary of the Council of Chiefs, HRH Eze Christopher Nnana Wonodi, JP, Eze Mbam Abali XII/Eze Risi Ohia Rebisi Kingdom, Port Harcourt said since the inception of the state, Wike has distinguished himself as God sent to restore the peoples dignity.

“Wike is governor of the people who is in a hurry to leave worthy legacies while his counterparts are lazying about waiting for the end of their tenure,” he stated.

On what he thinks is the governor’s magic wand, Eze Wonodi said it is nothing but prudent management of scarce resources as well as constant pressure on contractors/suppliers who have been given jobs for quality and timely delivery.

On the advantages of the flyovers especially those of Orochiri (waterlines) and Oroworukwu (Ikokwu), he said they will not only save man hour that would have been lost, but will attract development to the area.

“Those motor spare parts traders who normally caused unnecessary traffic hold ups in the area would be forced out automatically for a better development and the area would wear a new look and as well attract investors”.

The monarch used the opportunity to appeal to the governor to give listening ears to the civil servants both serving and retired as according to him, “they are the engine room of the government and cannot afford to be toyed with.

Those who are owed gratuities and pensions should promptly be settled to rekindle the confidence of those still serving in the interest of the state.

On the insecurity that is pervading the whole nation, Eze Wonodi said it was unfortunate that the Federal Government is not doing enough to curb the menace.

He however, rated governor Wike high in this regards as according to him “the governor has put in his all in the fight against insecurity in the state and little wonder, he noted, the state is relatively calm.

The monarch equally used the opportunity to re-assure the governor of the support and prayers of the traditional rulers in Port Harcourt for him to achieve set goal.
