EMOLGA Boils As One Person Reported Dead
Elele Alimini in Emohua Local Government Area of Rivers State was said to be in turmoil following a clash between suspected disbanded OSPAC members and youth of the community last Sunday which resulted in the death of one John Amadi, a member of the disbanded security outfit.
We learned that members of the disbanded OSPAC on instance of one of their members reportedly attacked and beat the Vice Chairman of Community Development Committee (CDC) of the town to pulp.
We gathered that the Vice Chairman of the CDC was admitted in hospital and some aggrieved youths went on rampage on learning that the Vice Chairman had died in the hospital.
Some natives who did not want their names in print told National Network that the aggrieved youths reportedly invaded the office of the disbanded OSPAC, destroyed the building and carted away their shrine.
Meanwhile Ekwume Dike, Councillor representing the community in Emohua Local Government legislative arm told journalists that the aggrieved individuals thought that the Vice Chairman who was unconscious was dead when they attacked the OSPAC office.
Mr Dike disclosed that information available to him suggest that one John Amadi a member of the disbanded vigilante group, was feared dead in the crisis which took place in the community and called on security agencies to wade to prevent further breakdown of law and order.
The spokesperson of Rivers State Police Command, SP Nnamdi Omoni, was yet to speak on the incident as at time of filing this report.
