Pastor Urges Followers To Support Leadership Vision
…As Resident Pastor Emerges At Rhema Chapel Int’l Churches Port Harcourt
There has been a change in the leadership structure of the Rhema Chapel International Churches Port Harcourt, following the announcement of a new Resident Pastor, Abiola Ajadi, who took over from the former Minister-in-Charge, Olasupo Olageshin, who is expected to pastor a church in Lagos State.
Official announcement to this effect was conveyed by the headquarters of the Ministry in Ilorin, through the Director of Pastoral Care, DPC, Pst. Tunde Mabinuori who officiated during the church service last Sunday.
He praised the former pastor, whom he acknowledged had been making a lot of sacrifices and informed that a new assignment awaited him in Lagos.
On the change of leadership at the Port Harcourt church, Pst. Mabinuori said that every leader has a new direction different from what people may be used to.
He called for cooperation of every church member, because “there is a new vision and a new anointing. The assignment of Moses is not the same as that of Joshua. Every leader initiates a new potential in your life. Every leader has his own uniqueness, relate with them by virtue of their uniqueness.
“But we have a common assignment to advance the Kingdom of God. “It is not a season to judge, nor a season for comparison. You need to cooperate and follow.”
He stressed the need for the followers to support the leaders vision , in order to get the best out of the leader. He likened obedience to holiness, saying that’ the more you obey, the holier you become.”
He also charged church members to cultivate the habit of praying for the leadership and defend them anywhere they go. He said that beyond this, the faithful should give to their spiritual leaders. “Don’t say that your pastors have, give to them, it is a spiritual law. And, when you cooperate, you give the pastor the opportunity to stay focused”.
Delivering a sermon titled, “Inevitability of Change, the DPC declared that God is the author of change, which informed while he promises new things in the Bible, He said that change is constant as it is consistent though, pointing out that there were good and bad changes. According to him , God is the initiator of good changes , while the devil is responsible for bad changes.
Pastor Mabinuori encouraged the congregation not to seat back and fold their arms, but enjoined them to rise up and pray to resist the wiles of the devil.
Pastor Abiola Ajadi, the new Minister-in-Charge of Rhema Chapel International Churches, Port Harcourt, the zonal headquarters of the ministry in the South- South, said that before his new assignment he had pastored many churches in the past, the latest of which was Rhema Chapel International Churches, Agege, Lagos State
Earlier, the outgoing Minister-in-Charge, Olasupo Olageshin, in his parting shot, stated that a day for him to be transferred was expected . He stated that he was excited for the church over the change that took place. But he thanked the leadership of the ministry and reasoned that the task given to him to shepherd a church had helped him a lot. “God made it easy for me, I was never weary or tired and God gave the resources”.
He noted that pasturing remains a full time engagement, even as he added that no one could pastor from the Diaspora
He also noted that Rhema Chapel Int’l Churches Port Harcourt is a great church, while thanking the Apostolic oversight of the ministry, Rev. George Adegboye for the opportunity given to him to take charge of an installation.
