Cultism: Police Raid Cultism Lane, Other Hideouts In Diobu After Media Report

Forty-eight hours after an exclusive report by National Network Newspaper on the rising tension in Diobu, Port Harcourt following supremacy battle between suspected Deygbam and Dewell cult groups, the Police raided black spots like ‘cultism’ lane, at Azikiwe street, Mile 11 Diobu, Odunze lane Mile 111 Diobu and other black spots.
A security personnel who participated in the raid told our reporter that the raid followed a directive by the Commissioner of Police, CP Eboka Friday to rid the area of cultists and other criminal elements alike.
Our source disclosed that no fewer than ten suspects were arrested in the areas raided by combined team of Octopus Strike Force, Nkpolu Divisional Police Division, Azikiwe Police division last Saturday.
Investigation by our reporter revealed that there has be no incident of cult clashes between the two groups since after the raid last Saturday.
Tension In Diobu As Cult Groups Battle For Supremacy
When contacted, DSP Iringe Koko Police spokes person in Rivers State confirmed the development.
Recall that National Network Newspaper had exclusively reported that there is palpable tension in Mile 2 and Mile 3 Diobu for over four days following clash between suspected Deygbam and Dewell cult groups over supremacy which resulted to some cultists and residents sustaining different degree of injuries with no casualty recorded.
