Police Detain Church Minister Over Defilement Of General Overseer’s 15 Year Old Daughter
A minister in a Pentecostal church (name withheld) located around Amarata axis of Yenagoa, Bayelsa state known as Mr David (Surname withheld) has been arrested and detained at State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (SCIID), Yenagoa for allegedly defiling fifteen year old daughter of General Overseer of his church.
The mother of the 15 year old girl who pleaded that her identity, that of her daughter and church should be kept under wrap because of stigmatization, in a phone conversation with our reporter said the suspect defiled her 15 year old daughter in her(mother’s) kitchen.
A source in the area told our reporter that the suspect allegedly collapsed in the cell of ‘A’ Division in Yenagoa shortly after he was arrested due to physical torture by some persons before they handed him over to the Police.
We gathered that the suspect was later transferred to SCIID, Yenagoa where he is being detained .
The Police Public Relations Officer of Bayelsa State Police Command, SP Asinim Buswat confirmed the incident to our reporter while adding that investigation is ongoing.
