RSG Hands Over Renovated School To Authority

The Rivers State government has completed the renovation work, and School 1 Emuoha, in Emuoha Local Government Area of the State.

The head teacher, Mrs Victoria Wali upto represented the school received the project from  the Commissioner for Education Prof Prince Chinedu Mmom.

The commissioner said government  decided to renovate the school to avoid accidents that may result to loss of lives of the pupils as they are always crossing the East-West road to access a temporary place of study due to the dilapidated state of their school.

Prof Mmom said the pupils can now walk freely to their school without fear of being hit by moving vehicles and advised the teachers to use the facility wisely while ensuring that the school premises are always kept clean.

Thanking him for his gesture, the zonal director in charge of Emuoha Schools, Mrs. Helen Fynface commended the Education boss for his proactive response to the plight of the pupils and described it as a father’s care over his children.

“The commissioner is a father who saw a danger over his children and took a proactive measure to avert it”, she said. 

On her part, the head teacher of the school, Mrs. Victoria Wali recalled that the dilapidated state of the school made them relocate to Government Secondary School, Emuoha located opposite their school, posing the danger of crossing the road by pupils every school day.

She lauded the commissioner for coming to their rescue, noting that a part of their problem has been solved permanently.
