The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, Rivers State Command says 17drug peddlers were convicted in the month of March,2023 by the State Command of the agency.
The public relations officer of NDLEA in the State, Emmanuel Ogbumgbada, said those prosecuted were arrested in different parts of the state and are currently serving their different jail terms.
Mr Ogbumgbada disclosed that a suspected female drug peddler was arrested at Etche axis of the State while in possession of Methamphetamine, with a street value of four million naira.
Meanwhile, two males and one female were arrested by the NDLEA over the weekend at the Ahoada and Eleme axis of the State with different drugs.
In a related development, a 34y-old South American from Suriname, Dadda Lorenzo Harvy Albert, was arrested by operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, at the Port Harcourt International Airport over the weekend for bringing into Nigeria 117 parcels of cocaine concealed in extra-large latex condoms factory packed, inside bottles of 100ml body spray.
