Gov Siminalayi Gets First Set Of Commissioners
The Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara has made his first appointments in less than 24 hours of his inauguration with whom to pilot the affairs of the state.
This was sequel to the screening and confirmation of four Commissioner nominees brought to the State House of Assembly.
They include Professor Zacheaus Adangor, Dr Dakorima Georgee-Kelly, Mr Isaac Kamalu and Professor Prince Chinedu Mmon.
The Leader of the House, Hon. Martin Amaewhule during debate on the floor of the House through a motion that was seconded by lawmaker representing ONELGA constituency 2 Christian Ahiakwo who prayed the House to allow three of the nominees take a bow based on their excellent performances as members of the immediate past Executive Arm.
He argued that members are conversant with facts about the nominees and have no need to ask them questions.
Earlier, Mr Isaac Kamalu was asked to take a bow as a former Whip of the Rivers State House of Assembly.
Speaker Ikwuiyi Owaji Ibani at the end of debate confirmed the nominees as members present unanimously voted in favour of the confirmation of the four nominees to work in the Rivers State Executive Council.
