Accident Claims Okada Passenger In Bori
Tragedy struck in Bori, Khana Local Government headquarters last Friday following a motorcycle accident, which claimed the life of an elderly man, who was on his way to the hospital for treatment.
An eyewitness, who identified himself as Barida, said the accident occurred along Hospital Road in Bori, as the deceased, apparently in his seventies, was being taken to the hospital for medical treatment.
Our source added that the bike rider also sustained serious injuries and now lying critically ill at a private hospital in Bori.
Barida explained that the rider of the Okada, a son to the deceased, was riding at high speed when he collided with an on coming motorcycle.
“I think it was due to poor visibility on the part of the two motorcyclists. It was too early to see clearly and they were both riding on top of speed and before you know it, there was head-on collision and the old man fell off and died on the spot”, he said.
The eyewitness disclosed that the ugly incident could have been avoided if the bike riders operated within speed limit, adding that though visibility was poor, other riders operated without incidence.
Barida further disclosed that the deceased has since been buried in Baen Town, where he was said to hail from.
Efforts to reach the State Police Public Relations Officer, Nnamdi Omoni, for comments failed as our call rang out without response.
