OSPAC Activities Banned In Emohua
Emohua Local Government Chairman, Dr Chidi Lloyd has condemned in strong terms the illegal activities of members of the disbanded community vigilante group popularly known as OSPAC in parts of Emohua Local Government Area, especially in Rundele clan.
The council chairman said the activities of the disbanded OSPAC and any other unapproved community vigilante groups remains illegal across Emohua Local Government Area after their disbandment by the past administration.
The council Chairman in a statement directed security agencies to investigate the activities of members of the disbanded OSPAC in Rundele clan and other parts of the local government area and bring to book anyone or group parading themselves as community vigilante in any part of the Local Government Area.
He said the council authority will be meeting with relevant stakeholders in a view to reviewing the establishment of OSPAC and any other community vigilante groups in the Local Government Area.
In the same vein, the council Chairman has directed security agencies to enforce the closure of all illegal sand dredging sites across Emohua Local Government Area, with major attention on the illegal sand dreading activities at the Emohua section of the Emohua/Choba River which constitutes threat to the Emohua/Choba bridge on the East-West Road.
Sand dredging operators and other business operators within the Local Government Area are advised to obtain the necessary approval to legalize their operations directly from the council authority through the office of the secretary of the Local Government.
Defaulters will be made to face the full weight of the law.
