…Says Wike Will Be Re-Elected
A staunch member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Rivers State and State Waterfronts Coordinator of Wike Solidarity Movement, Mr. Biokpo Diali George, has said that the PDP in Rivers State will not be distracted by the propaganda of the opposition All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2019 General Elections.
George, who stated this in an interview, Sunday, at a thanksgiving service and Civic Reception organized by Evo Assembly, in honour of Obio/Akpor Local Government Area Chairman, Hon. Solomon Eke, said that the APC in Rivers State was trying to distract Governor Nyesom Wike because they know that he is politically formidable.
The State Waterfronts’ Coordinator of Wike Solidarity Movement (WSM), said: “When they know that you are very, very formidable, they will bring every form of distraction to you but what I want to let you know today is that PDP is not moved by these propaganda …They cannot fight him (Wike), so that’s why they are trying everything to distract him”.
He dismissed an allegation by the All Progressives Congress that the governor of Rivers State, Chief Nyesom Wike, allegedly falsified his age, and urged the APC to prove their allegation in court.
Meanwhile, the State Waterfronts’ Coordinator of Wike Solidarity Movement has said that the power of the PDP in Rivers State comes from the people of the State, adding that Governor Wike will be re-elected in the 2019 General Elections.
He said that the PDP is sure of its political dominance in Rivers State because the people of the State have given the party their total support based on the achievements of the Wike-led administration in the State.
He said that the Peoples Democratic Party is the only party the people of Rivers State have identified with, adding that the PDP has an established structure which helps the Wike administration to succeed.
He described Governor Wike as a grassroots politician, maintaining that the governor works with a structure in place, and dismissed media propaganda by the opposition APC in the State.
George, who is also the National Director of OnePDP4Atiku2019, expressed confidence that the PDP Presidential Candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, will defeat the incumbent President, Muhammadu Buhari, in next year’s general elections.
In the meantime, the WSM State Waterfronts’ Coordinator has dismissed an allegation that some members of WSM in Ikwerre Local Government Area have not been fairly treated by the central body, maintaining that the group takes care of every member but at different times.
The WSM Waterfronts’ Coordinator, who also spoke on the thanksgiving service and civic reception held in honour of the Chairman of Obio/Akpor Local Government Area, Hon. Solomon Eke, said that the council chairman is kind and doesn’t show tribal sentiments.
George said that he was “overwhelmed” by the love shown by the people of Obio/Akpor Local Government Area for Hon. Eke.
