RSG Task Force Goes Tough On Street Traders, As Road Side Cloth Sellers Lose Goods…

It was a free-for-all fight between the State Task Force on illegal trading and the “area boys” at Nkpogu area of the Port Harcourt City Local Government Area, Rivers State when some “area boys” who suspected to be on the pay roll of the street traders authorized the latter to go on with their illegal street trading activities.

An attempt to dislodge, the street traders was met with stiff resistance by the street urchin which led to a pandemonium.

But with the help of other taskforce members who reinforced the team, the errant boys were beaten to submission and got arrested.

Speaking with the National Network, the coordinator of the taskforce DSP Felix Nwadibeyi (Retd) stated that his system and strategy is different from its predecessor, adding that dealing with human beings can be complicated sometimes.

He also confirmed to this medium that the offenders are already in police net.

In a similar development at Mile 3 park, some of the Taskforce team had seize some clothing materials belonging to traders, even when the traders ran after their vehicle pleading for the return of their goods.

Also in Mile 3, a bus driver was seen fight with some of the taskforce members, according to them, the bus driver had allowed his passengers to alight on the road, instead of the approved bus stop.

The taskforce members in turn seizes the vehicle battery but the driver in retaliation stripped himself naked to protest which he turned to allege inhuman treatment against him.
