Fear Grips Vigilante Over Attack On Member

Fear has gripped members of Ojoto/Ekwulobia/Dim/Wokoma Lane vigilante group following an attack by gang members on one of its personnel, Johnson Henry last week Thursday.

The victim who was at his duty post at about 12:00am on the fateful was given several machet cuts by yet to be identified assailants, sources disclosed.

Our reporter who went for fact finding at the hospital where the victim was admitted reports that Police officers from Azikiwe Divisional Police headquarters, Illabouchi were at the hospital to take statement from the victim.

Henry who was in severe pain told our reporter that he escaped death by whiskers.

The Chief Security Officer(CSO) of the unit Kelvin Nwachukwu  told our reporter that the matter has been reported to the Police and they are on red alert after the incident.

In a related development, members of Khana Security Planning Advisory Committee (KHASPAC) has arrested one Mr Barisua Baaluube who purportedly hails from Luawii community for inflicting machete injuries on one Mr. Francis Batambari from Kapnor community We learned.

Community sources informed our reporter that three of the suspects escaped arrest by KHASPAC while the victim is receiving treatment in an undisclosed hospital.

A native of the place who pleaded anonymity confirmed the incident, adding that the suspect has been handed over to Bori Police Division.

The source hinted that the incident would have triggered another communal crises between Kapnor and Luawii communities if not for prompt intervention of KHASPAC.
