Mrs Lulu-Briggs Foundation Lauds Charitable Organizations Contributions To Nation Building

Chairman Board of Trustees of the O. B. Lulu Briggs Foundation and the Executive Vice Chairman of, indigenous oil-major, Moni Pulo Limited, Dr. (Mrs.) Seinye O. B. Lulu-Briggs, has commended philanthropists and charitable organizations for their increased contributions to nation building through their partnerships with critical development stakeholders.

Mrs. Lulu-Briggs made the commendation Wednesday at the 6 Division Army Barracks in Port Harcourt while being hosted by the General Officer Commanding (GOC) 6 Division, Major General Jamil Sarham as Special Guest of Honour at the commissioning of Block 70B, a newly built block of fourteen (14) apartments for soldiers, and a lawn tennis court.

“I want to specially thank Chief (Sir) Ikenna Okafor (KSS) Ide Akwaeze, a distinguished philanthropist, for executing these projects. I have been made to understand that this gesture is not the first of its kind that he has undertaken.

“I must say that it is extremely encouraging to witness a steadily growing number of Nigerian philanthropists and foundations contributing to nation building by working with other development stakeholders including public sector security agencies such as the military,” she said.

Speaking further, Dr. (Mrs.) Seinye O. B. Lulu-Briggs praised the General Officer Commanding (GOC) 6 Division Major General Jamil Sarham and soldiers of the Nigerian Army for their diligence in fighting all forms of criminality across the Niger Delta region, especially oil theft, kidnapping and other sundry crimes.

According to her, “It is heartening to note that since the creation of 6 Division in 2016, it has made appreciable progress and its successes can be credited for the relative peace we now enjoy. One of my companies, Moni Pulo Limited, an oil and gas exploration and production company, can attest to the professionalism and dedication of 6 Division in protecting our facilities and ensuring that we can go about our prospecting efforts confidently.”

In his remarks, the GOC 6 Division Major General Jamil Sarham lauded the intervention of philanthropists in social development and called on other good spirited Nigerians to emulate the worthy model.

The high point of the event, which had cultural performances and a novelty tennis match, was the handing over of keys by Dr. (Mrs.) Seinye Lulu-Briggs to new occupants of the newly built Block 70B apartments.
