Police Detain OSPAC Member Over Death Of Colleague In Emohua

..As Community Dismisses Claims Of Murder

Controversy still trails the death of a member of OSPAC, a local vigilante in Oduoha, Emohua Local Government Area of Rivers State.

The OSPAC member was reportedly killed when the bullet from the gun of one of his colleagues caught up with him last week Tuesday.

Eyewitness account has it that the incident resulted in pandemonium as residents scampered for safety.

The deceased OSPAC personnel was said to have been confirmed death when he was rushed to an undisclosed hospital.

Our source further revealed that the security personnel whose nuzzle the bullet came from  was arrested by the officers from Rumuji Divisional Police headquarters where he is presently being detained.

Another source had claimed that the shooting was as a result of misunderstanding between the two members of the outfit.

However, the Secretary of Emohua Council of Traditional Rulers, Eze Oha Godspower Orlu who also hails from the community dismissed claims of murder. He told our reporter that it was an accidental discharge.

He disclosed that the families of the two OSPAC members and the entire stakeholders in the community have met and the issue resolved since it was not a case of murder. Eze Oha Orlu further stated that the security outfit was very instrumental to the relative peace the community is enjoying and the village will be sending more persons for training and subsequent recruitment.

When contacted, the spokesperson of Rivers State Police command, Nnamdi Omoni told our reporter via a text message that he was not aware of the incident yet.

Many natives had also confirmed the incident.
