In the wake of the economic challenges, the wealthy feel secure while the less privileged are worried daily about what to eat. But Eze Napoleon K. Amadi, the Agu-Na-Echemba 1 of Etche Ethnic Nationality has changed the narrative by providing palliative measures to cushion the biting effects of the lockdown due to COVID-19 pandemic.
Speaking at the distribution melting point at the palace of the traditional ruler in Chokocho, Etche, on April 30, 2020, Deacon Charles U. Otamiri, the spokesperson of the Palace described Eze Amadi as God’s gift who has contributed immensely to the welfare of his people.
Deacon Otamiri noted that the kind gesture done to them has again demonstrated that he is a leader with a kind heart and thanked the Eze for his magnanimity in supporting the people of Chokocho and the non-indigenes at this time of difficulty.
He urged other well meaning individuals to emulate the benevolent gesture of Eze N. Amadi whom he said has touched the lives of people in diverse ways across Etche Ethnic nationality.
One of the beneficiaries, Kabiru Kafari, who spoke on behalf of others said the food items would greatly assist them during the lockdown and thanked the Eze for always remembering them at times like this.
Eze Napoleon Amadi in his response said he derived joy in putting joy on the faces of his people, adding that he will ensure the people do not resort to criminality in order to survive due to the COVID-19 Pandemic lockdown.
He urged the people of Chokocho and Etche Ethnic Nationality at large to obey government directives and continue to observe social distancing for the safety of all.
