RSG Reiterates Commitment To Improved Education

…Procures over 50,000 four figure tables for students writing NECO Examination

Rivers State Government has further demonstrated its commitment to improved education in the state.

The Commissioner for Education, Prof. Prince Chinedu Mmom, dropped the hint while presenting mathematical and statistical tables and formula also known as four figure tables acquired by the state government for all students in public schools writing the National Examination Certificate (NECO).

Handing the materials to the Zonal Directors, he said that the Governor of Rivers State, His Excellency, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, places value and premium on the advancement of Education in the state.

Represented by the Director Administration and Acting Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Mr. Austin Ezekiel Hart, the Commissioner said the provision of the materials to the students was in line with the free education policy of the State Government.

He also said the gesture of the State Government has once again lifted the burden of spending money off the shoulders of the parents especially with regards to the harsh economic situation in the country.

The Education boss urged the Zonal Directors of the Ministry to distribute the materials to all the students in public schools writing NECO Examination in their different zones.

Responding on behalf of the Zonal Directors, the principal of Government Girls Secondary School Rumuokwuta, Mrs Gladys Ogbonna thanked the Governor for the provision of the materials and described it as timely.

She further commended the Governor for the massive remodelling and renovation of schools across the state while praying God to continuously grant him the strength to carry on his duties.

50,400 mathematical and statistical tables and formula were distributed to students in public schools writing NECO Examination in the 23 Local Government Areas of the State free of charge.
