3 Suspected Cultists Arrested In RSU As Police Begin Investigation

...Two Days Old Twin Babies Discovered

The Rivers state Police Command says it has begun investigation into the arrest of three suspected cultists at the main gate of a University in Port Harcourt and recovery of guns, Axes by Nkpolu Police Division, Mile 3 Diobu.

SP Grace Iringe Koko, Public Relations Officer of the command made the disclosure to our reporter following an enquiry into the incident.

SP Koko in an early statement revealed that operatives of the Nkpolu Division, last week Friday, received information from one of the Universities in  Rivers State , that men of the underworld, driven in one grey-colored Lexus Salon Car with reg. no. ABC 699 KM, attacked and wounded one male victim name withheld, a computer engineering student on his left leg inside the university.

She said on receiving the information, police mobilised a patrol team, intercepted the said car at the university main gate, and arrested three suspects.

The Police Image Manager disclosed that an intensive search of the car led to the recovery of three sharp English axes and a locally made pistol.

She added that the suspects and exhibit are in police custody while police operatives had visited the scene of the crime.

Relatively men of Anticultism unit of the Rivers state Police command have arrested a suspected child trafficker peace Effiong.

Operatives of Anti-Cultism Unit, While on intensive patrol along Rumuekini – Choba, East-West Road, Port Harcourt, intercepted a Toyota Sienna carrying occupants with suspicious behavior.

We learnt that upon conducting a search,  twin babies, a male and a female, were discovered ,both approximately two days old, in the company of one Peace Effiong Who could not provide a satisfactory account of the babies’ origin.

The Police explained that her alleged husband, an unknown man, fled, abandoning one of the babies.

The Police Public Relations Officer stated that the suspect confessed to the crime that she was introduced by a friend in Lagos to procure the newborn babies in Port Harcourt for the sum of two million eight hundred thousand naira (#2,800,000.00) before her arrest.
