Oyigbo Council Boss Set For All Inclusive Governance

The Executive Chairman of Oyigbo Local Govt Area of Rivers state, Hon (Dr) Gift Okere said his administration is set to deliver on its mandate by ensuring an all inclusive and people oriented governance throughout the ten (10) Wards of the Council area.

He stated this in his remarks when he engaged stakeholders across the wards of the area in a Town Hall consultative meeting over the weekend at the council headquarters, Afam.

Represented by his Vice, Hon (Mrs) Silver Amaechi, the Council Boss explained that the aim of the initiative was not only to bridge the gap between the leadership and the led but to as well interact with the people and exchange ideas with them so as to be acquainted with their needs with a view to taking care of them.

The chairman disclosed further that the initiative was a well thought-out plans to ensure that everybody was carried along in the scheme of things.

“It is important that we feel the pulse of everybody as we travel along as a team with our eyes focused on our goal”, he said.

Responding, the Ward eight (8) Councillor who is also the leader of the Oyigbo LG Legislative Assembly, Rt. Hon Chibuike Jeff Elechi commended the Executive Chairman of Oyigbo LGA, Hon (Dr) Okere for his leadership qualities which he noted, has placed the council area above others, adding that the interactive will bring the chairman closer to the people in order to know more about their challenges with a view to solving them which he noted mark the difference.

He also used the opportunity to pledged the support of the legislature to his administration to achieve set goal, urging him to continue to sustain his achievements so far especially in the area of security, medicare and empowerment. 

The House leader maintained that Dr. Okere has indeed redefined grassroot administration and promised a robust relationship between the Executives and the LG Legislature in the interest of all.

Rt. Hon Elechi equally used the opportunity to congratulate the council boss for his achievements within the short period on the seat and prayed for God wisdom and directives to achieve more for them while also promising the support and cooperation of the people at all times for him and the state governor, Sir Dr Siminalayi Fubara to succeed.
