ALEM Dismisses Allegation Against G.O. As Baseless, Enjoins Public To Disregard Information

The public, especially members of the Christian community have been enjoined to disregard the well orchestrated but failed attempts to malign the image of the General  Overseer of Abundant Life Evangel Mission, Apostle Eugene Egwuatu Ogu.

This was contained in a Statement signed by his Personal Assistant,  Deacon Justice Ewelie.

He described as futile the attempt to malign the personality of the reverred man of God, maintaining that  the allegations are baseless, false, concocted.

The statement read in parts: “Our attention has been drawn to the malicious radio program on Wazobia FM 94.1 Port Harcourt aired on Tuesday, 30th May 2023 and other stations, wherein the name of the General Overseer of Abundant Life Evangel Mission was mentioned in a land related dispute in Etche Local Government of Rivers State.

For all intents and purposes, we had elected to maintain golden silence as the said matter which Apostle Eugene Ogu is neither a claimant nor a defendant is already before a competent court of jurisdiction and resorting to media trail will be giving credence to the macabre dance.

He also explained that Apostle Eugene Ogu is a renowned preacher of the gospel, a man with high standing and character, a devout Christian and a man with an impeccable stance for truth, fairness and justice, as it is undoubtedly  public knowledge that he is identified by his philanthropic acts of rendering unfettered help to the less privileged and oppressed members of the society.

He expressed conviction  that beyond the ordinary, lies some hidden and well orchestrated attempt to impugn his image which stands tall in his ordained Ministry.

“We have also instructed our lawyers to take action against the media outlet for acting without recourse to due diligence.

“Hence, our lawyers are hereby asking the radio stations and her sister stations that aired the character assassination and defamatory news as a matter of urgency to retract same and tender an unreserved apology to him and the general public.

“In keeping with faith to justice and public confidence, we shall at the appropriate time put the records straight by placing the facts as they relate to the said land in the public realm, the statement concluded.
