The body of one of the respected Traditional Rulers in RI ers state, late Eze (Sir) Sunday O. Ojijiagwo (JP)who died recently after a protracted illness has been laid to rest in his family compound in Oyigbo bringing the weeklong burial rites to an end
Mourners from all walks of life throned the arena to pay their last respect to the fallen heroe.
The deceased, according to the biography read by one of his children disclosed that late Eze Ojijiagwo until his demise was the Paramount Ruler/Onyenweala Oyigbo/Asa Clan and Umusia Ancient Kingdom in Oyigbo.
The biography also disclosed that late Eze Ojijiagwo was the Secretary, Oyigbo Area Council of Traditional Rulers, former Supervisory Councilor for Health in the defunct Bori LGA of Rivers state and a knight of St Augustine Anglican Church of Ukwa Diocese.
They said he will be dearly missed, adding that he left worthy legacies abd made useful contributions in Oyigbo LG Council and in indeed Rivers state, including the merger and creation of Oyigbo LGA in 1976 Alongside his contemporaries like late Eze Sunday Oforji.
Preaching the sermon, the vicar of the Church said the deceased left indelible mark in the sand of time to be emulated
He maintained that Christians should endeavour to make heaven as they sojourn on earth.
The man of God stressed that he’ll and heaven are real.
The Oyigbo LG council chairman, Hon Elder Okechukwu Akara Nwogu in his tribute said it would be difficult to find a replacement for the late monarch whom he noted sacrificed a lot for the local govt area as a whole both as a politician, a traditional and community leader.
He pledged that the council will liaise with the family to immortalise his name.
The Chief mourner, Mr. Rustin Ikenna Ojijiagwo said in a chat with newsmen that it would be difficult to fill the big shoe their late father left behind but that they will however try to sustain the legacies he left behind.
All the traditional and religious rites due the late heroes was accorded him.
