I Will Give Abua People Effective  Representation – Lawmaker

The lawmaker representing Abua/Odual constituency in the Rivers State House of Assembly Hon. (Barr) Solomon Sokolo has promised the people of the area a smooth and effective representation.

He made this known during a reception organized in his honour at the City View Hotel Orazi in Obio/Akpo Local Government Area. While thanking the people for the confidence reposed in him, assured that he would not disappoint them for given him the opportunity to serve.

Mr. Sokolo said he would work hard to ensure the problem of the people are addressed so as to put smiles on their faces, adding that he would not shy away from anything that will engender peace progress and development in the area.

The lawmaker who is also a lawyer by profession boasted that he has gotten a lot of experience and exposure in his days in the university that he does not have any fear in carrying out his function as a legislator in the house.

Speaking on the re-election of the speaker Hon. Ikuinyi Ibani as the new Speaker of the 9th Assembly he stated that the step taken so far by the members was done in good faith, noting that bringing in a different person apart from him would have been very risky and amounts to starting all over again.

This he stated was because, he has already known the rudiment and the temperament of the members especially as majority of them were part of the 8th Assembly. Solomon further emphasized that the new speaker is experienced in the game and would restore confidence to the house.

According to him, “returning the speaker was a step in the right direction because when you put another person you are automatically starting all over again. Let us not forget that only few past members that are not here, the rest are there and he already knows them so, in order not to take risk we have to take this option which I believe is the best and I am looking forward to have a very good working relationship with him?
