Two In Police Net Over Issuance Of Fake Appointment Letters In Rivers

Two persons are being detained at the C4i Police unit close to state Secretariat, Port Harcourt, Rivers State over issuance of fake teaching employment appointment letter and forging of signature of Key officer(s) of Universal Basic Education(UBE) in the state, we learnt.

A source said one of the suspects in custody of the Police was also issued fake appointment letter by one Didia Emmanuel but the suspect was arrested because he connected so many people to Didia Emmanuel in respect of the jobs that turned out to be fake.

We learnt that the victims allegedly paid between 150,000 to 200,000 to Didia Emmanuel who promised to give them teaching job in UBE, Rivers State Ministry of Education.

Trouble, however started when the victims took their appointment letters to the schools they were assigned to, and were told that they had been scammed.

Some of the victims we learned, approached the management of UBE Board to confirm the authenticity of the appointment letters and were told they were fake.

When the matter was reported to the C4i Police unit, they discovered among others that Mr Didia Emmanuel was  the mastermind and had taken to his heels.

When traced through his whatsapp, since mobile phone lines were switch off, Mr Didia Emmanuel said “my friend be careful ooo, so you won’t lose your life ooo”.

The Public Relations Officer of the Rivers State Police command, SP Grace Iringe Koko confirmed the arrest of the suspects.
