The Rivers State Police Command has rescued one Blessing Chioma, from a forest in Etche Local Government Area of the State.
We gathered that the Police in collaboration with the youths of the community rescued the 12 year old girl who was abducted on her way to school last week Thursday .
The Public Relations Officer of the Rivers State Police Command, SP Grace Iringe Koko confirmed the incident to journalists. SP Koko said a 33 year old suspect identified as Promise Kuate was arrested and investigation is ongoing.
As at the time of filing this report, we gathered that the victim has reunited with her family .
Meanwhile, residents of the state have expressed concern on the use of IgboEtche as kidnappers den.
Residents who spoke to our reporter said many kidnapped victims are always found in IgboEtche. The residents called on the Rivers State Police Command to increase security in that area.
