Police Track Down More Terrorists In Rivers
The Rivers State Police command last week Friday killed a man believed to be the strike chief and two other staunch men of Rivers most wanted terrorist, Nwodi Onuigwe less that 72 hours after Police killed him(Nwodi).
Rivers State Commissioner of Police, CP Emeka Nwonyi in a press briefing in Port Harcourt, Friday, said the command will leave no stone unturned in continuation of its move to make Rivers State crime free .
CP Nwonyi said last week Friday, operatives of the C4i Intelligence Unit stormed a hideout at Isiodu forest, Emohua Local Government Area and the hoodlums on sighting the operatives, opened fire and gun battle ensued. In the process three of the hoodlums were fatally wounded and were confirmed dead at the hospital.
CP Nwonyi disclosed that eight loaded magazines,,70 rounds of live ammunition 10 cartridges were recovered.
Recall that personnel of C4i Unit of the command stormed a forest at Ogoloma in Okirika LGA last week Tuesday and killed Nwodi Onuigwe, and three of his men in a shoot-out.
CP Nwonyi further revealed that Police operatives on routine patrol spotted a corpse tied at a transformer along School Road with bodily injuries. He said one suspect, Okoro Michael was arrested and investigation is ongoing.
The Rivers Police boss revealed that some hoodlums known for snatching phones were at UPE Borokiri sandfield to carry out operations.
He said the operatives stormed the base on credible intelligence and the hoodlums ran away. on sighting the police.
CP Nwonyi said one Baretta pistol was recovered from a bag abandoned by the fleeing hoodlums while investigation is ongoing.
