Royal Father Sets Agenda For Gov-Elect, Fubara

One of the prominent traditional rulers in Rivers State, Hon, Eze, Comrade Bob Nwanwa of Eliogbolo Community in Obio/Akpor LGA has celebrated the electoral victory of  Sir Siminalayi Fubara as the Rivers Governor-elect in the recently concluded gubernatorial election.

The monarch however used the opportunity of the celebration to set an agenda for the in-coming administration. In a chat with newsmen at the occasion, Eze Nwanwa outlined some fundamental areas he would want the incoming Fubara administration to give priority attention to when he is eventually sworn into office on May 29, 2023 to enable it succeed and even surpass his predecessor in office.

The monarch noted that there is high expectation for the youthful leader from the public, and that it will not be out of place if opinion leaders give out their advice for the good of all.

According to the traditional ruler, “since the present Wike administration majorly concentrated on roads and infrastructural development, incoming administration should shift attention to human capital development as well as agriculture.

Another area that deserves the attention of the incoming administration he pointed out, is the renovation of the state secretariat including revitalization of the civil service generally which he noted is the “engine room” of every government since governance he said is continuum.

Eze Nwanwa expressed delight that the choice of Amaopusenibo Sim Fubara whom he noted effectively fit into all that the Rivers people were agitating for including a youthful Riverine Ijaw leader, focused and experienced leader who has understudied the system.

“The governor-elect is a tested and trusted, coolheaded and humane leader who has the interest of the whole state at heart and is ready to learn,” he said.

The monarch also used the opportunity to appeal to the incoming leadership to ensure that all the moribund industries in the state are revitalized to boost the economy of the state, employ the unemployed youths and as well encourage investors who have left the state to return.

“The governor-elect should do everything within his power to reduce poverty in the land including the establishment of modular refineries”.

The monarch equally used the chance to appeal to those who lost in the last general elections to sheathe their swords and join hands with Sir Fubara and his team to take the state to the next level.

At the same time, Eze Nwanwa advised the incoming leadership to reach out to every good hands in and outside the government in coupling his executive council in order to get maximum results, for the overall interest of Rivers people and residents.
