Police Arrest Suspected Member Of Fake Recruitment Syndicate

A suspected member of fake recruitment syndicate known as Mr. Kelvin Akaa was arrested in Port Harcourt by men of Choba Police Division last week Saturday, we learnt.

The suspect is said to impersonate as a staff of University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital  (UPTH) to defraud unsuspecting members of the public of their hard earned money with promise of employment in UPTH.

In an interview with Journalists, one of the victims, Nsongurua Dan said “what actually happened is that when I was doing my business, I met him, in the process he told me there was vacancy at UPTH and that he was asked to bring a certain amount of money that the management require that we (applicant) pay some money before they can give me appointment letter.

“Which I paid 410,000 naira. After the payment, I did not hear from him again for a long time only for me to meet him today at Abuja Campus, So I called attention of Sheriff at UNIPORT and from UNIPORT the sheriff notified the Police men at Choba that is how they apprehended him.

“We entered the same vehicle in Abuja campus. In the Police station, the Police people let me know that there is a case like that. That other people are also looking for him”.

The spokesperson for the Rivers State Police command, SP Grace Iringe Koko was did not several calls put across to her neither did she respond to text messages sent to her mobile lines on the incident.
