Cult Kingpin Surrenders To Police In Rivers
The Rivers State Commissioner of Police CP Emeka Nwonyi has disclosed that a Greenland cult leader, in Ogbologbolo community in Ahoada West, Ikem ThankGod aka 2Man has surrendered to the Police.
CP Nwonyi made the disclosure at a press briefing in Port Harcourt last week.
The Police Boss said the gang leader surrendered following intense raid of criminal camps in the area by the Police.
He stated that the gang leader submitted one AK 47 riffle, 2 SMG riffles and AK 47 live ammunitions.
The Rivers Police Commissioner further disclosed that following credible information, operatives of Octopus Strike Force raided notorious criminal hideout in Rumuokwuota, Obio/Akpor LGA on Friday July 28, 2023. He explained that the hoodlums escaped through a carnal while 14mm live ammunition, 50 suspected weeds, 42 satchets of loud, 6 sachets of Chelsea, 20 satchets of eagle,10 tombo bitters, chelsa cigarette, 5 handsets.
He also revealed that operatives of Anti-cultism unit on July 30, 2023 while on stop and search along Aluu omagwa road in IKwerre LGA, sighted a Volvo car, upon sighting the Police they ran away .
CP Nwonyi stated that one AK 47 riffle, 3 magazines, 12 rounds of 6 mm ammunition, one pump action were recovered from the car abandoned by the hoodlums.
he further said upon compliant by one Wale Abi, one precious Frank was arrested on Tuesday August 1,2013.
He said the suspect specializes in generating fake alert, defrauding POS and shop owners at Borokiri area.
According to him the suspects generated fake alerts to the tune of 110,000 naira for the complaint.
He said the suspect had given information that will lead to arrest of other members of the gang.
The Rivers Police boss explained that operatives of the command on August 3rd,2023 at in Port Harcourt Aba road intercepted one Honda crystal with two occupants, Success and Blessing, upon interrogation it was discovered that the hoodlums snatched the vehicle from Lawson Avenue in Port Harcourt.
Also operatives of Hunter unit of the command, at GRA Port Harcourt along casabalanca engaged three suspected kidnappers in a gun battle who attacked and blocked Toyota Corolla.
He said on sighting the Police the hoodlums fled and abandoned the victims, Samuel Okorokwon and Okorie Arinze as well as the car.
The Police Boss stated that operatives of the Command on Wednesday also arrested one Isaac Koma from Bayelsa who allegedly murdered one Josephine Ibuji at UPE Sandfill in Borokiri.
He said the suspect had given useful information to the Police while further investigations were ongoing in all the cases with a view to charge the suspects to court.
