Gunmen suspected to be armed robbers Sunday night, at Civil Defence road, Ahoada town, Ahoada East Local Government Area shot dead a motorcycle rider simply identified as Innocent.
We gathered that the gunmen said to be three in number, stopped the motorcycle rider along the road pretending to be passengers who want to board the bike..
Community source disclosed that the Okada rider reportedly resisted the gunmen when they resorted to robbing his motorcycle which made the suspected armed robbers to shoot the rider and cart away his motorcycle.
The source revealed that few hours after the incident, the okada rider died at an undisclosed hospital where his relatives took him to l. Public Relations Officer of the Rivers State Police Command, SP Grace Iringe Koko when contacted confirmed the incident adding that effort is on to arrest the perpetrators.
